Turmeric is a powerful spice that has been a part of Ayuvedic medicine all over the centuries. It is also a very effective blood cleanser. In the past kings were given turmeric in cases when they were poisoned. This is one of the most powerful spices in the world. It is cancer preventative, anti-tumor, antiseptic, antiviral, herbicide, bactericide spice.
There have been a lot of studies about the anti-inflammatory properties of turmeric and it has been proven that it is very beneficial. It boosts your mental health and it can be effective in a treatment for various conditions like epilepsy, Alzheimer’s, depression, etc. It can also help you improve your gut health.
You can use turmeric in seven different ways:
1. Turmeric tea
Bring water to boiling point, add turmeric and leave it simmer for about five minutes. Then, strain it and add raw honey, black pepper and lime.
- Turmeric juice
Juice turmeric and lemon, add salt and drink it.
- Turmeric soup
Simmer the turmeric and the broth for approximately 15 minutes, then strain it. Add some black pepper and your soup is ready.
- Golden milk
You will need: almond or coconut milk (one cup), water (¼ cup), fresh grated or powdered turmeric (one teaspoon), fresh grated or powdered ginger (¼ teaspoon), vanilla ( ¼ teaspoon), cardamom (a dash), cinnamon (a dash), clove (a dash), raw honey (two teaspoons). Just mix all of the ingredients together.
- Turmeric scramble
Just throw some turmeric on your eggs you eat for breakfast.
- Turmeric kefir
Just add a teaspoon of turmeric into you kefir.
7. Turmeric smoothie
You will need: coconut flakes (two tablespoons), frozen mango or pineapple (one and a half cup), almond milk or coconut milk (one half), fresh or powdered turmeric (one teaspoon), hemp seed hearts (one teaspoon), maca root (one teaspoon), black pepper (a dash). Just mix all of the ingredients together and enjoy your drink.
